WHAT WE BELIEVE
Scripture:
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (II Timothy 3:15-17; I Corinthians 2:13; Heb. 4:12; I Peter 1:23-25).
God:
We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE Separate and distinct personalities: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14).
Biblical History:
We believe in the full historical authenticity and clarity of the Biblical record of primeval history, including the literal existence of Adam and Eve as the progenitors of all people, the literal fall and resultant divine curse on the creation, the worldwide cataclysmic deluge, and the origin of nations and languages at the tower of Babel (Genesis 1-11).
Creation:
We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness. (Romans 3:10-18).
The Lord Jesus Christ:
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6).
Christ’s Death and Resurrection:
We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (I Corinthians 15:14; Romans 4:25).
Christ’s Bodily Ascension:
We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for the Church (John 14:2-3; I Thess. 4:13-18).
Salvation by Grace through Faith:
We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Ephesians 2:8- 9).
Evidence of Salvation:
We believe the inward evidence, to the believer of his salvation, is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. “And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us” (I John 3:23).
Water Baptism:
We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:37-39; 19:1-6).
Baptism of the Holy Spirit:
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15).
The Gifts of the Spirit:
We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians 12-14, and Ephesians 4:11 and as manifested in the Early Church.
Spirit-Filled Living:
We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith (Ephesians 5:18; I Corinthians 6:14-20).
Marriage:
We believe in the sanctity of marriage as established by the Holy Scriptures and that God created marriage and that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2-3; I Corinthians 7:10-11: Ephesians 5:22-33).
Healing:
We believe in the healing of the body by divine power, or divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; I Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14).
Deliverance:
We believe in deliverance from oppression and demonization in its varied aspects as commanded and practiced by Jesus Christ and in the early Church. (Luke 4:18; Luke 9:1, 2; Matt. 10: 6-8).
Communion:
We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for Believers (I Corinthians 11:28-32).
Financial Support:
We believe the work of God shall be supported by the free will offering from all members of the congregation in proportion as the Lord shall prospered them. (Luke 6:38; I Cor. 16:1, 2; II Cor. 9:6-9).
Prosperity:
We believe total prosperity is the will of God for every believer and always to be associated with God’s purpose. (Deuteronomy 8:18; II Corinthians 8:9; 9:6-15).
Spiritual: John 3:3; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10.
Mental: II Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3.
Physical: Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter2:24.
Financial: III John 2; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14.
Social: Proverbs 3:4.
Eternal Life:
We believe in eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3:16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers (Mark 9:43-48; II Thessalonians 1:9).
Satan and His Judgment:
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41; Revelations 20:10-15).
Church:
We believe the church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly and church of the first born, which are written in Heaven (Ephesians 1:22; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23).
Blessed Hope:
We believe Jesus is coming again to gather His saints to heaven (I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; II Thessalonians 2:1).
The Lake of Fire:
We believe those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and anyone, whose name was not found in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone. This is the second death, the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15).
The Millennial Reign of Jesus:
We believe the return of our Lord Jesus Christ with His saints from heaven to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth as the Scriptures promised (II Thessalonians 1:7; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-7). After this, there shall be a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21).
